Small Diameter Bomb II GBU-53/B

Raytheon esta realizando los testeos para el comienzo de la futura producción de su nueva versión de las bombas SBD, la GBU-53/B. Dichas bombas de peso ligero han sido actualizadas con un buscador de blancos móviles de tres modos conjuntos, estos son:

• Buscador Radar milimétrico
• Buscador laser semiactivo
• Buscador Inflarojo

Este nuevo modo de búsqueda permite realizar ataques contra blancos fijos y móviles sin perder las prestaciones del anterior modelo GBU-39.

La GBU-39/B puede ser transportadas a bordo de los F-15E, F-22 y F-35, aunque en este ultimo, en la versión de los marines, hay problemas para integrarlos dentro de la bodega, viendo reducida su capacidad de ocho unidades a seis.

Raytheon is doing the testing for the beginning of future production of its new version of the SBD bombs, the GBU-53 / B. These lightweight pumps have been updated with a mobile homing modes of three sets, these are:

• Millimeter Radar Seaker
• Semi-active laser Seaker
• Infrarred Seaker

This new search mode allows attacks against fixed and mobile targets without losing the benefits of the previous model GBU-39.


The GBU-39 / B can be carried on board the F-15E, F-22 and F-35, although in the latter, in the version of the Marines, there are problems integrating them into the cellar, seeing reduced capacity six to eight units.
