El Misil JASSM / JASSM Misile

Una Nueva entrada, esta vez tenemos un nuevo misil, en nuestro caso el AGM-158B JASSM-ER (Joint Air-to-Surface Standoff Missile Extender Range) o Misil Conjunto Aire Superficie Autonomo De Alcance extendido).


Este misil incorpora un nuevo motor turbofan de la marca Williams F107-WR-105 que incrementa el alcance del misil a unas 600 millas nauticas, alrededor de 1000 kilometros. Este misil podra ser portado por los cazas F-16 ademas de los bombarderos B-1B, B-2 y B-52.


En si, el proyecto se encuentra en el aire ya que a estas fechas, es posible que el congreso de los estados unidos cancele el proyecto por reduccion de costes, pero no tengo seguridad al respecto. Aqui os dejo un interesante video en YouTube con el que podeis ver las pruebas del misil en vivo.

Segun Noticia de Lockheed-Martin, que podeis consultar aqui, el misil realizo su decimo vuelo sin problemas y se continuara con los ensayos hasta mediados de 2010, con la prevision de que se produzca una pequeña produccion de modelos operativos en 2011 y que su IOC (Initial Operational Capability) o capacidad operacional inicial en 2013.
